An electric heat pump (commonly known as an air to air heat pump) is one of the most comfortable and efficient ways to heat and cool your home. In warm weather it keeps you pleasantly cool and in cold weather it circulates warm air evenly throughout every room.
When a heat pump is installed with an energy efficient gas furnace your dual fuel or "Hybrid Heat" comfort system provides year round comfort and a substantial savings on your energy costs. The heat pump operates to cool your home in the warm summer months. When it's cool outside your heat pump provides heat. When the outdoor temperature really drops your gas furnace kicks in.
Because your investment in a "Hybrid Heat" comfort system can save you so much you may recover your investment within a few short years.
Climax Heating & Air Conditioning is a Utah licensed heat pump contractor located in Vernal Utah. We design and install heat pumps and Hybrid Heat systems.

Unlike other traditional heating systems a heat pump doesn't require a fuel source such as natural gas or propane to condition your home. Heat pumps transfer heat from one location to another and consume little energy. Your refrigerator is perhaps the most common form of heat pump.
The unique physical properties of refrigerant contained in a heat pump system allow it to readily absorb heat from the relatively lower temperature air outside your home. You may have observed this process when a liquefied gas such as propane absorbs heat at such a rate that the moisture in the air surrounding the gas cylinder condenses or even freezes on surface of the cylinder. The heat pump transfers or "pumps" the heat charged refrigerant into your home where the heat is transferred (typically to the air) in your home.
A heat pump reverses the heat transfer process in the summer. It removes heat from indoors to cool your home just like an air conditioner.
Certain heat pumps that meet the governments requirements for efficiency ratings qualify for a federal tax credit. The available tax credit is 30% of the installed cost up to $1,500. Call us for more details regarding tax credits.
